In this third session of Sanicafe, “The Road to Self-Reliance: Sustaining FSTPs Beyond External Support”—practitioners, policymakers, and researchers come together to explore practical approaches for sustaining faecal sludge treatment plant (FSTP) operations, the challenges municipalities face, and the technical, financial, and policy support needed for long-term viability. Featuring insights from experts including Md. Shafiqul Hassan (DPHE), Mosharof Hossain (Golden Clean and Traders), Syed Adnan Ibna Hakim (UNICEF), and Alauddin Ahmed (ITN-BUET), with moderation by Uttam Kumar Saha (WSUP), this session highlights real stories and collaborative solutions for achieving sustainable, self-reliant urban sanitation where no one is left behind.
