This meeting brought together representatives from municipalities, ITN-BUET, DPHE, and development partners to discuss progress and innovation in Bangladesh’s sanitation sector. The session highlighted Kushtia Municipality’s success in implementing a city-wide inclusive sanitation model that integrates digital monitoring (IMIS), private sector partnerships, and innovative treatment technologies such as floating solar treatment plants.
Discussions also covered waste management strategies, sanitation tax implementation, and citizen engagement mechanisms. Participants shared insights on policy challenges, institutional strengthening, and the importance of inter-municipal learning.
