Sani Talk Café hosted its second virtual session, bringing together 70+ participants from government, NGOs, academia, private sector, and development partners like Practical Action Bangladesh, BASA Foundation, ITN-BUET, DPHE, UNICEF Bangladesh, and SNV.
The session, themed “Ensuring Safety, Security, and Dignified Lives for Sanitation Workers,” featured presentations by Shahidul Islam (Moderator, SNV Bangladesh), Tahmid Hossain (Practical Action Bangladesh), and Prince Dey Rony (BASA Foundation). Key topics included online safety training, insurance schemes, fair wages, worker cooperatives, and women-led waste management initiatives.
An interactive Q&A explored strategies for formalizing cooperatives, expanding insurance, and developing a national sanitation worker database. The discussion highlighted Sani Talk Café’s role as a platform for collaboration, innovation, and action towards safe, inclusive, and equitable sanitation services in line with Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) goals.
📌 Next session coming soon.
