Public toilets are essential for health, dignity, and access in cities, yet in many places they stop working soon after being built. Weak operation and maintenance, unclear responsibility, and poor financing lead to what is often called "toilet loss."
To address this, ITN-BUET's SaniRepo platform held the second session of its quarterly City-San Connect webinar series on 30 November 2025, marking World Toilet Day 2025. Titled "From Toilet Lost to Toilet Legacy: Building Systems That Last," the 90-minute online dialogue brought together 45 participants from government agencies, NGOs, academia, the private sector, development partners, and international expert groups.
